PAYMENT AND INSURANCE
Private pay, with straightforward billing.
I am not currently in network with insurance plans. Payment is due at the time of service.
If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. I can provide a superbill for you to submit directly to your insurer, but reimbursement is not guaranteed.
A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available based on financial need and scheduling availability.
Before beginning: You may wish to ask your insurer about out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits, your deductible, and reimbursement after that deductible is met.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What would you like to know?
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You do not need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis to begin. Therapy may be useful if you feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, uncertain about what you want, or curious about patterns that keep repeating.
What happens during the free consultation?
We will talk briefly about what brings you in, what you are hoping for, scheduling, fees, and whether my approach seems like a good fit. It is a conversation, not a commitment.
What should I expect in the first session?
We will begin with what led you to seek therapy and what feels most important now. I will ask about your current life and relevant history, and we will identify what you would like our work to make possible.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly 50-minute sessions. Consistency helps us build momentum, though we can discuss frequency based on your needs and circumstances.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer secure online therapy to clients located anywhere in Texas, as well as in-person appointments in Northwest Austin.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full session fee, except in emergencies.
Is what I share confidential?
Therapy is confidential, with specific legal exceptions concerning imminent safety concerns or suspected abuse of minors, elderly or disabled persons. I will explain these limits during intake.
What does LMFT Associate mean?
An LMFT Associate has completed graduate education and required clinical training and holds a Texas license to practice under approved supervision. I practice under the supervision of Brittany Whallen.
